SCOLIOSES ARE NOT RADIOGRAPHS

Staments, by eminent scientists, on brace treatment and on the importance of cosmetic results in scoliosis treatment.

Stagnara(4): "Scolioses are not radiographs, but human beings with a spinal deviation."

Winter e Lonstein(5): "Brace efficacy has been proven beyond all doubt by the study presented by Nachemson(2) to the Scoliosis Research Society. In most cases, treatment stops scoliosis progression."

Sibilla(3): There are "5 golden rules" regarding brace treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Patients who complete the therapy by following these rules obtain a cosmetic modelling of body deformity, that satisfies their expectations."

Mehta(1): "For the patient it is body deformity that counts most. Physicians worry about radiographic deformity, but what the patient really wants to obtain from treatment is the eradication of cosmetic deformity and of the correlated psychological distress."
